Hollow Nights by Wertonen Hollow Nights by Wertonen
Well I must say that this is my first even a little decent looking spacescene. One day I was mourning about how I lack in spacescenes and that I should start to focus more time for doing those. So today I gave it a shot and after 10 hours the result looks something like this.

Do enjoy this. I hold this close even if this was more like an experiemental work.

Fullview is essential! =)

Vähän näyttää siltä, että planeetta on liian valoisa, mutta muuten loistava työ..

Whoa, that's great o.o° No I know what I did wrong when I tried to paint nebulas o.O° Just great.
Maybe the smaller one looks a bit copied, but that doesn't really matter =)

^.^
One question: How did you make it? Paint? (I'm interested about the program which can do such things... =))

its got a nice feel to it, and the depth in it is pretty striking. I would like to see a tiny bit more variance in the stars, though that may result in a more unnatural look. Anyways, lovely piece here bro. Keep up the good work

First off; Great job for your first submitted space piece, even if you have experimented with space scapes before. ;) In general very well done. However i would further analyse everything to try & suggest things & as such tell you also what you did very well. :) So i will start off with those nice nebulae you have made.

My favourite part about the nebulae is that you obviously tried to give depth; It is crispy in the further away centre, & wispy towards closer view, good depth of field usage. I love the colour choices for it aswell, the colours gradientise very well, nice job. However the small nebulae, i think should have more depth in its centre, & make the wisps around it slightly more blurred as further away & crisp looks a bit odd.

The starfield is beautifully subtle, & in fact i enjoy how it is barely visible in the darker space, it adds a great focus on everything while still feeling within space. When it is more visible, being pronounced by the nebulae, it looks quite nice. My only suggestion is perhaps adding more flare stars, smaller than the suns of course, & putting them in the nebulae with variation to give even more depth. but overrall well done on the starfield you have done. Nice suns aswell.

Now the final 'main' point; the planets of course. :) First of all i enjoy their placement in the large nebulae; the blurring on them as good, as if to give the sense of the nebulous gases concealing them, very nice. The moon to the large planet has a nice look to it, with a soft atmosphere & good texturing. Now to the large planet; while the texturing is excellent, it seemingly has no atmosphere or crescent or the likes; this would indicate this is a moonlike planet with no atmosphere, however the presence of clouds disproves that it is moonlike, so in other words, either have no clouds, or make it have a more notable atmosphere. (Moreover an outer glow that isnt so soft/blurred out). Also the small planet at the small nebulae seems oversharpened.

But overall as everyone else said, great job & keep up the good work. Hope my suggestions helped too. :)

nice nebula and coloring. the bigger planet looks a bit stange and i don't like the little Nebula, because it is to similiar to the bigger one... but very good work on the nebula ;)

wow... that nebula has such a great glow and look. the planets light is too white... and too strong. the lightened side should be in a blue soft light, since the neb glows in a blue color. but hell that neb looks sweet! that neb in print size would be awesome! :) well done there

nebula looks AMAZING, but i donno how the whole thing comes together. Everything in it looks amazing on their own, but theres no general idea throughout the piece that links them all together.

good work! keep it up

Yes, well this supposed to be only an experient in the first place. So there's no general idea like you said, but now that I know I can make decent spacescenes I can finally start to take them further. :)

That is superb Man, very nice not oversaturated with nebulas and space dust, the only thing I can say is that the smaller nebula and the large one look alike, so it feels repetitive. Awesome technique.
